Front of the House Restaurant Manager Requirements

Educational Background

  • High school diploma or equivalent; a degree in hospitality management or a related field is preferred.

Experience

  • Previous experience in restaurant management or supervisory roles.

  • Experience in customer service and front-of-house operations.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Proficient in point-of-sale (POS) systems and restaurant management software.

  • Ability to handle customer complaints and resolve issues effectively.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

Knowledge

  • Understanding of food safety and sanitation regulations.

  • Knowledge of menu planning and food and beverage pairings.

  • Familiarity with budgeting, financial reporting, and inventory management.

Certifications

  • Food Handler’s Certificate or equivalent.

  • Responsible Beverage Service Certification (if applicable).

Personal Attributes

  • Passion for the restaurant industry and customer service.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
